“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”
Victor Hugo had it right. The power of music is something indescribable, an anchor for all human race. For when we are at a loss for words the melodies can still resound through and through. It can ease the pain, bring happiness where there is none, and ignite a fire in our souls we never knew existed.
My first passions are Writing and Music.
From before I can remember I have been writing, whether it be small little scribbles on school paper, to elaborate tales of far off lands and dreams not yet come true. I immersed myself in all sorts of literature – From the classics to graphic novels and comics to collections of poetry – I enjoy both the critically acclaimed and the not-so-noticed.
Along with writing, music plays a large role within my world. It encompasses my mind and ignites my creativity. Amateurly versed in piano, I enjoy making mix tapes and discovering new music in the oddest of places. Whether it be browsing around Youtube or flipping through mixes on 8tracks.com or checking out the “Free Track of the Week” on iTunes. It’s in the most unlikely places you may find the next greatest track.
For me, one of the most wonderful things I love about music is being able to own a hard copy of a masterpiece. Much like a great book, an album encompasses a collection of wonders for the ear and mind. Whenever I can, I try to get a grab at an album to add to my shelves.
Aside from that, I have my B.A (honours) from McMaster University in Theatre & Film Studies with a minor in English.
I enjoy photography, videography, painting, theatre, divulging in games (both video and tabletop), and exploring new places.
I hope to one day find adventure in the great wide somewhere.
